Clients regularly drive in from South Georgia and across the Southeast because the piece they want is worth the trip. The Drive

An Easy Drive from South Georgia & Beyond

Idle Hands sits just off Sunbeam Road in south Jacksonville — a straight shot down I-95 or US-1 from the Georgia line. Rough drive times:

St. Marys & Kingsland, GA — under an hour
Brunswick, GA — about an hour
Waycross, GA — about 90 minutes
Savannah, GA — about two hours
Valdosta, GA — about two hours
Tifton & South Georgia — two to three hours

For a full sleeve or a back piece, one focused trip gets far more done than months of local half-sessions — which is exactly why people make the drive.

How It Works

Consecutive Sessions, Built Around Your Trip

For out-of-town clients, Jeff blocks consecutive days so you cover real ground in one visit. A large piece that would take months of weekly sittings at home can advance dramatically over two or three days back-to-back.

Start the conversation. Tell us what you’re planning and where you’re traveling from. For travelers we can begin the design talk remotely.
Lock your dates. We schedule your consecutive days together and take a deposit to hold them.
Come in and get tattooed. Day one we finalize the design in person; then we work across your booked sessions with rest built in.
Head home with real progress — a finished piece, or a major chunk of a long-term project done in one trip.

Timing. Consecutive-day slots for travelers book up, especially for large work — the earlier you reach out, the easier your dates are to arrange.

Common Questions from Out-of-Town Clients

Do you tattoo clients traveling from out of town?

Yes — a good share of Jeff’s larger work is for clients driving in from South Georgia and around the Southeast. If the piece you want is worth the trip, we’ll help you plan it.

How far in advance should I book a trip?

For travelers we set aside consecutive days, and those slots fill up. Reach out a few weeks ahead — more for large custom work — so we can line up your dates.

Can a big tattoo be done over consecutive days?

Often, yes. Large pieces need to rest between passes, so we schedule sessions across two or three days with enough recovery in between. Jeff will tell you honestly what’s realistic for your piece and your skin in a single trip.

Do I have to come in for a consultation first?

Every custom piece starts with a consultation so Jeff can design it for your body. For travelers we can start that conversation before you drive in and finalize it in person on day one — but we don’t quote or book large work sight-unseen.

Where should I stay?

Hotels cluster along I-95 at the Sunbeam and Baymeadows exits, minutes from the studio. We’re happy to point you to the closest options when we schedule your visit.
